Our Story – Strength, Padel and Perseverance
From Diagnosis to Breakthrough
Some moments divide your life into two: a before and an after. For me, that began on August 5, 2024. The day I heard I had cancer. Metastatic. Stage 3.
While a healthy person has tumor markers between 0 and 2, mine were at 2300. A hard blow. I was 20 years old, athletic, full of energy – and suddenly nothing seemed self-evident anymore.
That period revolved around chemotherapy, exhaustion and breakdown. But also around perseverance, small glimmers of hope and holding on to what gave me energy: padel.

Not Alone
I was never alone. My brother, my parents, my girlfriend, my friends – they were my team. They were there in silence, in jokes, in love and even in baldness, when my friends showed solidarity.
Their strength kept me fighting.

The Power of Padel
Even when I couldn't play, padel gave me something to hold on to. It reminded me of who I was and who I could become again. It was precisely during that period that my brother and I started HollandPadel.com. What began as a distraction grew into a dream and a mission.

The Turnaround
After months of fighting, recovery slowly began. My strength returned. My body became mine again. And three months after my last treatment, I was back on the court. A victory, greater than any game I had ever played.
Today, I am stronger, healthier, happier. And ready for the future.

Holland Padel
Together with my brother, I run HollandPadel.com, a webshop for padel enthusiasts. What started as a passion is now our mission: to help others get the best out of their game and themselves. Because padel is more than a sport. It's a way to fight back. Against yourself, against the world, against everything that tries to diminish you.
At Holland Padel, we believe in quality, attention, and energy. These are precisely the things I myself lost, and which I now want to give back stronger than ever.
